Digging Up the Money Root

May 30, 2012 in Finance, Opinion, World

This article is part three of a five-part series on how we can make a peaceful transition into a peaceful world.

For the purposes of this discussion, I am using this definition.

A peaceful world is one where each person is free to experience life and liberty without depriving another person of these attributes.

This link takes you to an article where I introduce this series and explain my definition.

This link takes you to part one of the series.

This link takes you to part two of the series.

Life and liberty includes a fair, asset-based method of trade. The barrier to this is the current debt-based method of trade.

I have always been fascinated with the topic of money. I enjoy mathematics, even algebra. I started preparing my own tax returns while I was in high school. I did other people’s tax returns as a favor while going through college, getting a degree in music education, and teaching private music lessons. I even approach music mathematically.

One day, I had an epiphany.

I could use my fascination with numbers to help other people manage their finances. I changed professions.

Since then, I’ve prepared tax returns, done accounting work, and provided business coaching services.

Through doing this work, I began to notice how people struggle with Peace of Mind. My observation is that people worry more about money than anything else. In fact, even when they are focused on something else like health or relationships, money always plays a role in those situations. They worry about how to pay for medical care or how a partner is using money.

I wrote a couple days ago that part of this problem has to do with our ideas of ownership.

The other part of this problem is directly related to our current debt-based method of trade.

MoneyTreeThis system, which started in its current form in 1913 with the creation of The Federal Reserve, has come to symbolize everything that is wrong with today’s economy. It allows bankers to control the money supply through the printing of currency. It is the root of the problem that has brought us to the edge of financial catastrophe.

This debt-based method of trade cannot continue without growth of the money supply. When every dollar created comes from debt, interest must be paid on the debt. The money to pay the interest isn’t created with the original debt. Therefore, it must come from future dollars, which are created from more debt, which require more interest, which must come from future dollars.

As a result of this method of trade, we are faced with three choices:

  1. Massively print more money and create additional inflation.
  2. Fall into a global depression as debt goes unpaid.
  3. Reboot of the whole global monetary system.

Since World War II, The Fed has chosen to print more money to prevent global depression. This is why a gallon of gas, that I watched my parents pay twenty-six cents for, is now almost four dollars. It is the same gallon of gas today as it was forty years ago. However, the value of the dollar relative to that gallon of gas has decreased fifteen times during since then.

This inflation is, in effect, an additional tax that we pay each time we purchase something. It exists because it is needed to pay the interest on the national debt.

Speaking of taxes, it is interesting to note that the Internal Revenue Service, which started using Form 1040 in the same year the Fed began (1913), is now considered to be nothing more than a collections agency for The Fed.

Some writers say this was the original design. While I have not yet found any “official documentation” for this, it is obvious that since all tax dollars are going to pay the interest on the national debt, collecting for The Fed has become the effective role of the IRS.

Those who, like me, have taken the time to study this situation have concluded that the only long-term solution is the reboot of the whole global monetary system.

This means we do away with a debt-based currency that uses notes (debt instruments) as cash and we go to a system based on assets, including gold, silver, and commodities.

This means the end of The Fed and the IRS as we currently know it.

It means a complete jubilee that includes the forgiveness of all debt. (Numerous people have asked me if all debt has to be forgiven before we begin the new system. As an accountant, I can assure you that it does if we are going to practice integrity. Debt is the root of the money problem.)

This idea of a financial reboot has been bantered about quite a bit over the past several months. However, those in the positions of power have not yet demonstrated the courage to step forth and implement it.

Therefore, we teeter on the edge, waiting to see what is next.

What can we do to help this process along?

Some people are espousing the idea of creating a global shutdown starting June 18. Their idea is to stop paying all bills. I understand the logic. However, I’m not convinced it is the peaceful response.

I believe the peaceful response is as follows.

  1. Practice the philosophy of Living Within The Gift. I explain that idea on this page with a free video and an eBook.
  2. Understand the current financial system is debt-based and is, therefore, unsustainable. It must change to an asset-based system to become sustainable.
  3. Selectively share this information with other people so that when the change takes place, and it will happen, either through the system imploding or a proactive change, those people will be prepared to transition peacefully.

Tomorrow, I will continue this series by looking at how accurate information is important for a peaceful transition.

An Example of What You Can Do

April 5, 2012 in Finance, World

Yesterday, I wrote about the importance of acting in a peaceful, loving, and generous manner. It is how we can bring about the change we wish to see in the world.

I said that even if none of these stories of imminent arrests are true, our ability to practice peace, love, and generosity will create the change we desire.

This is not a new message for me. I have written and spoken about this message for years. It is who I am. It is my deepest desire. I have dedicated my life to understanding this message and practicing it.

I have also developed tools to communicate this message.

One of them is Complete Peace of Mind Training. It is a video series that has more than ten hours of riveting material. It comes with a textbook and a workbook. It is designed to assist individuals on their own Peace of Mind Journey. It incorporates audio, video, printed text, and active participation so that all learning styles may easily understand the material.

I have taught this information in live events for years. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and the demand was increasing so I released a video series of the material last October.

I believe this message is essential for each person who is serious about creating a peaceful world.

I use the Laws of Miracles, Attraction, and Abundance to teach peace, love, and generosity.

  • The Law of Miracles shows how to have Personal Peace of Mind.
  • The Law of Attraction demonstrates Relationship Peace of Mind.
  • The Law of Abundance explains Financial Peace of Mind.

When I released it last October, I established a market price for the material. The DVDs and books sell for one price. The online videos and eBooks sell for a lower price.

Recently, thanks to Charles Eisenstein’s and Paulo Coelho’s influences, our team decided to make this series available at Living Within The Gift pricing. This means you may choose the price you wish to pay for the training.

In addition, our Amazon Kindle products are now available at Living Within The Gift pricing. Use these links to learn more.

Growing Softly Stronger in the Cracked Places

Living the Southwest Lifestyle – How to Have and Maintain Peace of Mind

Why are we doing this?

It is our way of practicing what we teach. If our intent is to create a peaceful and abundant world, we must live this way in all parts of our lives, including business and financial.

This link takes you to a page that explains more. It contains a free eBooklet and a nineteen-minute video that provides insights on the concept of Living Within The Gift.

New Financial SystemI believe this innovative and gentle method of financial exchange is vital if we are going to create a peaceful world. At a minimum, it is how we practice the new financial system prior to its arrival.

Moreover, I believe it is entirely possible that it could be how we usher in the new financial system. If each person adapts this philosophy, we will eventually reach a tipping point for change where the old system is no longer needed because we are using the new financial system.

Today, I do my part in this change.

I implement Living Within The Gift pricing for my Peace of Mind message.

I invite you to learn more so you may participate in experiencing this remarkable time in history.

A Tool for The Shift

April 1, 2012 in Future, Spirituality

According to the information I referenced yesterday, we are on the verge of stepping into a golden age. The forecasted scenario is about to start.

It looks like this:

  • Certain insiders will use the internet to tell us the action will begin shortly. We will receive this notice approximately twenty-four hours before things start to happen.
  • Satellite systems will be shut down for seventy-two hours while massive arrests begin. Those arrested will be those who have suppressed technologies and hoarded wealth. The purpose for the shutdown of the satellites is to prevent the last minute transfer of funds by those who know their arrest is imminent.
  • The arrests will be enforced by those within the law enforcement and military who are privy to this situation.
  • This will look like the institution of martial law. Mainstream media may even report it as such.
  • There will be a thirty to sixty day transition to the new government and economic system. During this time, it may be difficult to acquire food and basic services.
  • This new system will educate the public on what is taking place. It will include information on the real history of the United States. At least one television channel will be dedicated to this task. The videos have already been prepared.
  • In addition, this new system will be funded by an extraordinary amount of wealth. This wealth has been held in escrow by trusted parties until it can be safely distributed. The arrests are necessary to ensure the wealth isn’t stolen and used to fund the old system.

As I said yesterday, I’m skeptical about this scenario.

However, I am preparing for it.

Here is why.

I have always been aware of a divine source, what some would call God. Because I grew up in the Bible Belt, I associated that divine source with the God of the Bible as interpreted by a certain sect of Christianity.

I committed to that lifestyle, that philosophy. I don’t do things halfway. Therefore, I fully committed.

Then, as I approached the age of forty, I began to realize that some things weren’t adding up. I saw that my old belief system distorted God. When one’s vision of God is distorted, life becomes distorted too.

I spent several years reconciling my lifelong belief system with my experiences. When I was done, my belief system had changed. My vision was clear.

I wrote a book (Living the Southwest Lifestyle) and recorded a video series about this experience. It is called Complete Peace of Mind Training. It is available for Living Within the Gift Pricing.

As I look around me today, I see much of our society struggling with what I went through about ten years ago. From my perspective, this struggle is rules and punishment versus experience and love.

Some would call it the masculine system of power and control versus the feminine system of love and acceptance.

It appears we are shifting from the masculine to the feminine. If the scenario outlined above really happens, this shift will happen.

Peace of MindIf that’s the case, we will need some instruction on how to live within the new system. I believe my experience ten years ago gave me clues to today’s upcoming change. It provided me with a way of living that allows Peace of Mind in the midst of challenging situations. When applied to life, it brings an individual through challenges and into peace.

This is what many people need today, whether this shift happens or not.

Complete Peace of Mind Training explains how to do this. Living Within The Gift Pricing makes this affordable for everyone.

If you need help with what is happening today, I encourage you to use this tool. It was prepared for a moment like this.

Being Change

March 14, 2012 in Finance, Future, Opinion, Spirituality

A review of my writings over the past few months shows I have circled through several of the same topics. I don’t apologize for this.

Writers have a message. We write about this message ad nauseam. I’m guilty of this.

Still, I don’t apologize.

I don’t apologize because I believe my role in our current transition is to show how to respond peacefully and we haven’t yet mastered this skill.

I believe that if we understand the underlying issues of the financial and political situations, we will see the need for change. Therefore, I write about financial and political topics.

I believe that if we honestly confront the spiritual and emotional issues we face today, we can see how daily challenges assist us in healing those issues. Therefore, I write about spiritual and emotional topics too.

This is why I wrote my books.

This is why I recorded my videos.

This is why, when possible, I’m implementing a new pricing policy for my products and services.

GiftHere is what we say about it on our new “Living Within The Gift” price sheets that I use when I speak to groups.

We believe that our products are gifts. These gifts come from inspiration, literally from God’s Spirit. Therefore, no amount of compensation is adequate. This is not an ego thing. We believe this about your products and services too.

Since our society uses money to purchase products and we live in a price-driven economy, we have established market prices for our products.

However, it is more important for us to distribute our gifts than it is to receive market prices. Therefore, we have provided our costs so that you may use those to guide you in determining an alternative to our market price.

All we ask is that you express gratefulness for the gifts in the way that best serves you and allows us to continue to provide gifts to others. In other words, “pay it forward.”

This is not a gimmick to get you to pay more than market price or to get you to feel guilty about paying less than market price. As we said above, it is a guide to help you determine pricing if you desire to pay a price different from market price.

We believe the idea of Living Within The Gift will bring about a fairer economy for all people and we invite you to share this idea with others.

Thank you for your interest in our products.

Our team is currently working on a system for implementing this policy on The Peace of Mind Training Institute website for our video training.

Our intent is to use it for all future training.

We believe this response to the financial and political situations we face today will give us healthier emotional and spiritual responses tomorrow.

(Hmmm – I just realized that politics is a glorified word for relationships. WOW – The ramifications of that just hit me like a punch in the gut. I’ll have to write about that in a future article.)

No one is going to lead us through our transition to the healthier responses. If we are going to create positive change, each person must take the initiative to be the change in his or her part of the world.

This is my way of taking the initiative to be change in my part of the world.

When our online system is ready – Saturday is our goal date – I’ll send you an email announcing it. That email will have our cost and the market price. If you want to participate in the training, you may choose the price you wish to pay to do so.

It is my way of being change by Living Within The Gift.

Transition Preparations

March 13, 2012 in Finance, Future, Opinion, Spirituality

Yesterday, I suggested we prepare for panic in the streets, a shutdown of power and communications systems, a disruption of banking and investing industries, war in the Middle East, and martial law in the United States.

This doesn’t mean I’m a pessimist. This doesn’t mean I believe in doom and gloom. In fact, I believe few, if any, of these things may occur.

New World TransitionI simply see these events as possible outcomes to what is happening today. My opinion is that if these things do transpire, they will be temporary situations as we adjust to our new world.

In spite of what I see as short-term events, I believe the suggestions I made yesterday are good long-term plans. The physical control of assets, investing in sustenance items, and the ability to travel on a moment’s notice allow us to thrive no matter what is taking place around us.

The physical control of assets is good financial advice. Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad and numerous other financial books, has encouraged that practice for years. He believes money can be made in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. He also believes money can be made in a casino. He sees both practices as unnecessarily risky. The physical control of assets removes that risk.

Investing in sustenance items is good livelihood advice. This requires a connection to the universe that allows one to understand how everything has a relationship with everything else. This understanding creates a foundation for peace as we respect all parts of our world, even the ones we often identify as annoyances. We see how we are cared for by something beyond ourselves and we seek to return the favor to those things beyond us.

The ability to travel on a moment’s notice honors the wanderlust each person has inherited. Due to changes in seasons and climates, both political and natural, our ancestors often had to change location to survive. Today, this has manifested as the desire to travel. Since we seem never to have time to take a vacation, we often create a crisis that requires us to surrender to our inner nomad.

When no perceived threat exists, we become lazy. We allow other people to control our assets. We allow other people to provide our sustenance items. We stay in one place for the rest of our lives.

However, if we desire fulfillment, we create situations that challenge us.

We create a world that requires us to pay attention, to investigate, and to acquire information.

This is where we are today.

We are on the verge of a major transition.

If it is a wild transition, the preparations I have listed are the next best actions. If it is mild transition, these preparations are not for naught. They are practical steps that allow us to live in greater harmony with the world around us.

OH! – There is one more thing we can do.

We can begin to act on something I wrote about a few weeks ago. I believe it is the most powerful way to respond to news and life from a peaceful perspective. It is the concept of Living Within the Gift.

Over the next few days, I will demonstrate a practical way of doing this.

The Gift For Uncertain Times

February 22, 2012 in Finance

Last night, I spoke to a group of small business owners. The topic was “Adapting to Change.” My talk was well-received. Afterwards, members of the audience said nice things about it. Some even purchased books and videos. Therefore, I assume the evening was helpful to those in attendance.

If anyone thought I was crazy, they were polite enough to be quiet. Many said my comments were insightful.

I know I learned a lot.

I learned that old stories pale in comparison to new ones. This is true even when the old stories are emotional and powerful. Fresh and new stories contain fresh and new energy. I suppose that is why we have a fascination with “news.” We want to know what is happening, what is new.

Therefore, the seven-year old story about the near-death experience fell flat.

The story about the amazing new piece of artwork that represents creating beauty out of shattered experiences grabbed people’s hearts.

The concept of Living Within The Gift resonated throughout the room. Heads bobbed up and down and light radiated from the eyes of those listening. It seemed that everyone already intuitively knew about this concept, even if they weren’t conscious of it.

When they made purchasing decisions, they used the printed Living Within The Gift information I gave them to determine the pricing.

In other words, they got it.

I’m glad.

This gives me hope that no matter what happens with the financial systems, we will be OK because we understand that bartering, trading, and surviving comes as we Live Within The Gift.

If the three stories I mentioned yesterday are any indication, we may need these skills very quickly.

The first is the sudden resignation of bank officials all over the world.

Bank FailuresI provided links to a collection of headlines in yesterday’s article. Since then, eClinik Learning has put together a page with the text from all of the stories. The scope is overwhelming, even for me.

Even more overwhelming is to consider what all of this means.

For months, those who channel messages from the Galatics have said arrests were coming. The channels said arrests would mark the beginning of the shift to the new prosperity systems. Is this what we are experiencing?

If not, then what else could be going on?

Typically, resignations are part of deals. Those resigning become scapegoats for illegal or unskillful acts. Are the financial leaders leaving their positions as part of an agreement to avoid arrest? Are they leaving because they don’t want to remain as captains on sinking ships? Are they leaving for some other reason that I can’t think of today?

Those who follow the channelers believe these resignations are an indication that the ETs are about to reveal themselves. Therefore, they are excited about the possibilities and are devoting a lot of time discussing the details.

Those who follow banking and finance believe the resignations reveal corruption throughout the banking system.

Whatever the case, the stories provide motivation to understand and practice Living Within The Gift. It is the most valuable and stable method of exchange we have in these uncertain times.

I’ll provide information about related stories tomorrow.

The Answer is Living Within The Gift

February 21, 2012 in Finance

Tonight, I will speak to a group of small business owners. I spoke to them a couple of weeks ago. I talked about basic stuff: taxes, financial reports, and how to make money. I threw in a couple of motivational sections, just to keep it interesting.

Tonight, my talk will be different. I’ll move away from the safe topics and chat with them about “Adapting to Change.” I’ll tell them what happens when we know we need to change and refuse to do so. I’ll tell them about a near-death experience. I’ll tell them about artwork made from broken pieces of clay.

Tonight, by the time I am done, they will either love me or hate me. There will be no neutral ground. They will either think I’m the most insightful or the craziest speaker they have ever heard.

It should be fun.

Living Within The GiftPart of this discussion will be to explain Living Within The Gift. In fact, for the first time since I have grasped the concept, I will talk about it and make my products and services available at “Living Within The Gift” pricing.

It is how I am adapting to change.

If you are a regular reader, you know I think a massive change is underway within our financial system. I’ve been writing about this evolution for a while.

Over the past few days, the headlines are screaming that we have arrived at the threshold of this change. The two links below contains a total of more than forty headlines and links to stories about banking officials and financial leaders who have resigned in the past few months, many since the first of this month.

Link number one.

Link number two.

European and financial press exploded last Friday with the story of the seizing of trillions of dollars of “fake” United States Treasury Bonds issued in 1934. This seizure took place in Switzerland and was done by Italian authorities.

A similar arrest in 2009 led to the Trillion Dollar Lawsuit I wrote about in December. My take is that the bonds are real and the arrests, if any took place, are false. Look closely in the articles and you will see the names of the arrested are not listed.

This feels like a counter story written in an attempt to convince the public to ignore the Trillion Dollar Lawsuit. It is The Illuminati’s attempt to say, “Look the other way. There is nothing to see here.”

Most of the reports on this story are coming out of Europe and mainstream media is downplaying it.

Quite frankly, the story raises more questions than it provides answers. For example, why would anyone create such massive and obvious counterfeit instruments with criminal intent? Wouldn’t this imply there are real instruments like this since someone made an attempt to counterfeit them?

The other big headline is that Greece, in spite of efforts to keep its nose above financial water, is going to default on its payments to the European Central Bank (ECB). Numerous financial experts say this will take down the top five United States Banks because they are collectively holding 250 trillion dollars in derivatives exposure and most of that is in European sovereign debt derivatives.

In layman’s terms, this means Greece will not pay its debt to the European Central Bank (ECB). This default will mortally wound the ECB. The five largest United States Banks hold a large derivative interest in the ECB. If it dies, the United States Banks die too.

As I have said numerous times, I do not know which of these forecasts and headlines are accurate. Today’s greatest battle is an information battle. I spend several hours each day reviewing information and I still struggle to determine which story is accurate and which one isn’t.

I do know that Living Within The Gift will work in any economic system. I know this because it is based on love and generosity and those attributes are always accurate.

Therefore, tonight, I’ll make a conscious effort to use this concept within our free market society.

I will let you know how it goes tomorrow. In addition, I will have more to say about the stories briefly mentioned in this article.

Finding Those Who Want My Gift

February 4, 2012 in Spirituality

This article is a continuation of a series I started on Monday of this week. I suggest you use the calendar in the right hand column of the website to review the series.

GiftLet’s review.

  • Each person has at least one gift to give the world.
  • This gift comes from inspiration, from God’s Spirit.
  • No amount of compensation is sufficient for this gift.
  • It is appropriate to establish a market price for the gift so the giver may have the freedom to continue to give the gift to others.
  • The apparent contradiction of the previous two sentences is reconciled when we recognize that the payment for the gift is not compensation. It is an expression of gratitude.
  • Givers like compensation. It allows them to eat.
  • Givers love gratitude. It allows them to experience inspiration.
  • This payment for the gift does something else too. This is the topic of today’s article.

As a giver, when I receive payment, this helps me know who is to receive my gift.

It makes the giving process pleasant.

Even though I want everyone to be able to experience my gift, I know not everyone may be able to appreciate it.

Therefore, it is often necessary to provide obstacles to receiving the gift.

The usual obstacle to receiving the gift is price. This may be money. It may be time. It may be commitment.

I understand that the obstacles are actually part of the gift I give. They block the path of those who would not benefit from the gift. They help those who want to receive the gift find a way to uncover their own gift.

This process of trade works perfectly for me because I have precious gifts to give and I don’t want to waste them on an unwilling heart.

It allows me the freedom to give my gift without having to deal with the distractions that come from complainers and criticizers.

When I first started giving my gift, I often encountered complainers. I tried to please them. I tried to give them something other than my gift. I was miserable.

I now know that those who complain about my gift, especially if they complain about the price of my gift, do not really want my services. They want something else. I’m not meeting their expectations so they complain. In fact, they would complain even if they didn’t have to pay anything for my gift.

Therefore, they give up the privilege of receiving my gift. There is nothing wrong with this. They simply are not ready to receive it.

That’s OK. All gifts aren’t for everyone.

The complainers often hide behind moral issues. They criticize the giver for being unreasonable or for not understanding or for being greedy.

I’ve learned not to take this personally. I understand that the complainer is not ready to receive my gift.

I understand that if someone isn’t completely ready to receive my gift, it doesn’t make sense to give it.

The best way I can determine this is by how willing the receiver is to express gratitude through investing what is necessary to receive the gift. This sorts out the complainers, sorts in the recipients, and makes for a more pleasant experience for everyone.

How to Take Advantage of Paulo Coelho

February 3, 2012 in Spirituality

Won’t people take advantage of me if I live within the gift?

This is possible.

It is more likely that people will respond by appreciating the gift and expressing gratitude.

I’ll write tomorrow about how to respond if you feel like someone is unfairly taking advantage of you.

Today, I want to look at one man’s experience with living within the gift.

Paulo CoelhoThat man is Paulo Coelho.

I’ve written about him before. I said his book The Alchemist
spoke to me and his book Aleph
yelled at me.

Since then, I have read every one of his books I can find.

Coelho doesn’t care if I buy his books, borrow them from the local library, or download them for free off a site that pirates his writing.

No, I’m not kidding.

He lives within the gift and all he wants in return is that people appreciate his inspiration. He knows that when people do this, they express gratitude. He knows this because he has experienced it.

I’ll let him tell the story.

In 1999, when I was first published in Russia (with a print-run of 3,000), the country was suffering a severe paper shortage. By chance, I discovered a ‘pirated’ edition of The Alchemist and posted it on my web page. A year later, when the crisis was resolved, I sold 10,000 copies of the print edition. By 2002, I had sold a million copies in Russia, and I have now sold 12 million.

Coelho understands that when we receive the gift of a consumable item, it is appropriate to pay for it. He says, “When you’ve eaten an orange, you have to go back to the shop to buy another. In that case, it makes sense to pay on the spot.”

However, an idea is different.

A new idea needs a while to take hold. Art is the expression of an idea. When we first encounter it, we aren’t sure about it. We mull it over. We decide we want to know more. We might download it for free. If it is something that really grabs us, we eventually want to own the source of that idea whether it be book, CD, painting, or another art form.

Therefore, Paulo doesn’t oppose the sites that pirate and provide his material for free. He actually hosts one of them.

Nowadays, I run a ‘Pirate Coelho’ website, giving links to any books of mine that are available on file-sharing sites. And my sales continue to grow — nearly 140 million copies worldwide.

He goes on to explain.

With an object of art, you’re not buying paper, ink, paintbrush, canvas or musical notes, but the idea born out of a combination of those products.

‘Pirating’ can act as an introduction to an artist’s work. If you like his or her idea, then you will want to have it in your house; a good idea doesn’t need protection.

The rest is either greed or ignorance.

Those who live within the gift understand there are market rates for their products and services. Those prices are not compensation. They pay the gift forward so others may experience it.

In addition, as we make gifts visible, other people see the benefit and want to receive them. The more visible our gifts become, the more people want them.

Does this mean we must give to everyone who crosses our path?

Not necessarily.

I’ll address that issue tomorrow.

Paying Everything Forward

February 2, 2012 in Finance

I have already heard from the naysayers who think “Living Within the Gift” and “Moving from Compensation to Gratitude” will only work if everyone does it. These people are looking for a special announcement before they make the change.

I suppose this may happen.

I doubt it will.

Here is why.

A sudden change to a new financial system will create chaos.

In addition, change doesn’t come from the outside. It happens on the inside.

Anything we can do to anticipate and prepare for the change will not only make the transition easier, it will actually make the transition happen.

Therefore, each person may contribute to this worldwide change in financial system.

Here is what I intend to do.

Pay It ForwardI will understand and accept the current market rates for products and services while recognizing the gifts that come my way. The utilities that provide electricity, heat, communication, and entertainment services to my home are gifts. I am grateful. I will continue to pay it forward by paying the bills in a timely manner so others may experience these gifts.

This is true for other “non-personal” services such as mortgages, which allow us to live in homes that we haven’t paid for yet, auto loans that allow us to drive cars that we haven’t paid for yet, and credit cards that allow us to enjoy experiences and products that we haven’t paid for yet.

All of these are gifts.

I will continue to express gratitude for them through making payments so others may experience these gifts.

When I receive services from individuals, I will recognize these as gifts. From the medical professional to the server at the restaurant, I will understand their gifts and respond gratefully.

When I provide products or services to my clients, I will offer them the opportunity to pay market rates for those gifts.

In addition, I will do something radical.

I will offer them an opportunity to adjust the price they actually pay. I will provide them with a written explanation of this concept. I will show my actual cost for providing the gifts, explain that their payment helps pay it forward so others can receive my gifts, and have a system in place to allow them to adjust the price up or down if they wish.

Even as I write these words, my heart, like a little kid, jumps up and down screaming with joy. It is something I’ve tried to figure out for twenty years and I couldn’t quite wrap my brain around how to do it.

As I said in my first article, I have Charles Eisenstein to think for the solution. He is the author of the book Sacred Economics: Money, Gift, and Society in the Age of Transition.

This link goes to the chapter from his book that details the ideas I’m presenting here.

Eisenstein isn’t the only person to advocate this idea.

Neale Donald Walsch, author of the Conversations With God material, practices this philosophy. At one time, he provided the cost of each book along with the purchase price. I recently checked to see if he still does this and he doesn’t. He is, however, working to make the material available online. It appears this will be offered free of charge when it is complete.

I intend to practice this philosophy wherever I can. It will take a while to implement throughout all of our businesses, especially those online. However, our team has started the process.

I am not alone in this practice.

As I have become aware of this way of thinking, I have noticed that much of the internet subscribes to it.

In fact, it drives sites like Wikipedia, WordPress, and Mozilla.

It is so predominant that more than 7000 websites went dark for twenty-four hours a couple weeks ago to protest against two proposed laws designed to prevent piracy of copyrighted material. These laws, called SOPA and PIPA, were intended to stop the piracy of artists’ material.

Instead, many saw the laws as needless censorship of the internet by the government. They were seen as an attempt to prevent the giving of the gift.

Surprisingly, those who would seem to lose the most by having people take their products, like authors and musicians, joined in the protests.

I’ll tell you how one author feels about this in tomorrow’s article. It is a potentially controversial look at how one man is already living within his gift.
