Wondering if the American way can survive our current world
Editor’s Note
I was born in the United States and, except for a couple of brief trips abroad, have lived here my entire life. As I grew up in public school, I learned the traditional history of our country and accepted it as fact. However, I’ve recently noticed that the history I learned doesn’t line up with what is taking place in our country so I’ve started to look for answers to a few questions:
- If the United States was founded as a republic, why do we now call ourselves a democracy?
- Why does the Federal Reserve, an independent bank, control the monetary policies of the United States?
- How do these things impact the United States Constitution?
- What is the solution to United States immigration policies?
- What is the purpose of the war on drugs?
The first few posts in this category (at the bottom of the below list) answer these questions. Subsequent posts report on these issues and how they continue to affect the American population and the world.
